'5) “Sword Base” map is ugly
The Reach beta has two maps. “Powerhouse,” a wide outdoor arena that is both visually pleasing and easy to navigate, is excellent. The indoor “Sword Base” is not. Its big problem isn’t that it’s hard to get around — that goes away as you get more familiar with the layout.
The real problem is that the visual design is just plain boring. There are few distinguishing features between the different rooms, and the dominant color scheme is a flat gray. There’s nothing wrong with it from a gameplay perspective; it’s just dull.'
Dull. That's the word I used and I stand by it. Even after several more rounds on the map tonight. DULL!
For some reason it reminds me of how Duke Nukem 3D possibly may have looked if it had come out on the Xbox instead of the PC like what, 15 years ago? Man that was the best game ever! If that guy Jeff that does the Halo voice over ever dies, they should call Duke in and get him say "Let god sort 'em' out every time one gets a double kill....
