Will Firefight Mode be in the Halo: Reach game?
Maybe.
The news is that Bungie has publically commented that the future of Firefight mode is not set in stone, and that it has “every chance of reappearing in future Halo games”.
Bungies’ Brian Jarrard, lovingly known to the Halo community as Sketch, talked about Firefight at the Penny Arcade Expo.
"The number one question these days is whether we're going to do DLC for ODST and add more Firefight maps. Right now we honestly have no plans to do that because we have another huge game in the works,"
Sketch went on to say:
"I can't talk too much about Reach specifics, but hopefully the game mode's going to be received as well we think it will be, and people are going to enjoy it. I don't think we've ever been known to really take things away from each successive release, so I think it's safe to say that if Firefight gets a lot of traction and people love it, it probably has a good future home in our next title as well."
So there you have it. There is real potential for Halo: Reach to have some sort of Firefight mode to be included in the game on release especially seeing that every does seem to love playing Firefight. I’ve hardly played matchmaking since it came out!
Update
The real issue is not will there be firefight in Reach but rather will the game have matching making abilities? This was sorely lacking with its release in ODST. Matching making's inclusion in Firefight would make it one of Reach's best features I reckon (and that's saying a lot seeing as noone has seen the game!)
